I am going to replace my Phenom 1090T X6 CPU with the FX8350. The board is is the Gigabyte 970A-UD3 AM3+ board and it is FX compatible but only after you flash the bios to I think F7 which is for the FX chip. I have read thread after thread to find out in what order to flash the bios but I am still not sure.
1 Do you flash the bios while the 1090T "current CPU" is still installed even though this bios is for the FX8350? or
2 Do you go ahead and install the FX8350 and boot into the current bios that is made for the 1090T and then flash from a thumb drive?
This is my third build so I have never upgraded processors on the same board. I am not bold enough yet with computers to just try something I need to know before I jump in.
