Hello guys,
So I recently installed some new RAM on to my system but I believe I must have installed it the wrong way around in the RAM slots... what an idiot :banghead:
After I installed the new RAM I started up my system and it worked fine for a few minutes but then I could smell a strange burning smell coming from my machine and then it suddenly died on me. I then took out the new RAM I had just installed and checked for burn marks but the sticks seemed fine.
I tried to restart my computer but all I got was a black screen and my computer made a funny bleeping sound at me after a few minutes of nothing happening. I wondered if the RAM might have blown my graphics card so I installed an older card and my machine then booted but I got the "hard disk read error occurred" message.
I have tried my hard drive in another machine and works fine, so now Im complety lost as to whats up with it. I'd be very grateful for any help you guys can offer!
