Is this core compatible?

Im currently using a

AMD Anthlon II x2 250 Processor (2 CPUs), 3.0 GHz.

Im looking at upgrading it since it causes me to have unstable frames on high demand games. Right now im considering buying this

AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Desktop Processor FD6100WMGUSBX

However i want be make sure im wanting to get a compatible core and would also like to know anything else needed such as possibly needing a better PSU.
