I have a new computer build from March that had a meltdown due to a faulty heatsink courtesy of Intel. I've since replaced the heatsink and the motherboard but could not afford to replace the graphics card, so I am using the onboard graphics from Asus Sabertooth Z77.
I work from home through my companies VPN. This morning when I rebooted and hit F8 to select my USB device to log into work, the monitor light turned yellow and nothing would come up. I tried multiple times to no avail. I then tried rebooting to see if Windows would load but it wouldn't.
I turned off the power supply and unplugged the chord and then walked away. After 30 minutes I powered up with no problem. When I was hitting F8, I would get a message "No HDMI active" or "detected" don't remember. Then again, I get that message all the time but goes away once the operating system begins to load. Today, I would get that message and then the monitor would go to standby.
I can't afford for this to continue to happen every morning so I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions or areas I need to pay attention to. Any help would be appreciated.
