Hey guys, I thought I'd post for those interested.
I have a LGA775 in my rig right now and I just got in the mail a 771 Xeon X5460 today.
Someone has figured out that you can fit these Xeons into a 775 board, with very slight modification. The price for a Xeon that performs on par with a QX9550 is ~$50. Whereas a QX9xxx is ~$250 or more.
Pretty cool for anyone wanting to upgrade. I'll definitely post my results tonight. Only motherboards that support the quad-core CPU's will work from my experience thus far.
