different machine id, same pc, no changes

Hello,

I had purchased a custom indicator (Ninjatrader software) from a third party vendor. Ninjatrader implements Microsoft's method of assigning a machine id to the pc's hardware- motherboard, bios chip, ect. for copyrighted purposes.

The problem is that my machine id changed unexpectedly, without any known updates or changes to my pc's hardware. Now I have to contact the vendor and have a new license for the software re-assigned to that id.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening again?
