Earlier today I was doing a regular cleaning like I do once every 3 months (my computer does not accumulate much dust so I don't have to clean as often).
My cleaning process:
Disconnect all wires from the back of the PC
Lay PC on its side
Air dust the bottom to clean the PSU fan and dust catcher
Rotate PC back into original position
Remove both side panels
Lightly dust all case fans
Remove the 2 fans from the bottom of the H100i, dust the heat sink and the SP120s
Re-screw fans onto H100i
Close case up and boot.
When I turned the computer on it would not beep or display anything. I noticed 2 flashing LEDs one labeled "CPU_LED" and one labeled "DRAM_LED" (located right next to the "Mem-Ok" button. These lights would continuously flash while the computer was on (but not booting).
1.) My first course of action was to restart the computer, which did nothing.
2.) Next I pressed the "Mem_OK" button, once pressed the computer turned on and off multiple times. The computer would stay on for about 2-3 seconds then restart continuously until I forcibly (held the power button down for 5 seconds) shut down the computer.
3.) My next course of action was to check all the connection. I disconnected the CPU, GPU, and motherboard pins and snugly reconnected them. Still same problem consisted.
4.) I removed one of the RAM modules then attempted to boot. The problem consisted. Then I pressed Mem-OK to see if it would help, which it did not. I placed both RAM modules in their original seating.
5.) I removed the GPU and plugged in an HDMI to the motherboard and the problem still went unresolved.
Now I'm just sitting here not knowing what to do. Any suggestions?
This rig has been working steady for the past 6 months without a flaw even with the addition of some new parts.
