We bought a gateway ne56r41u thru comcast internet essentials program and used it 4 one day and it blue screened and said hdd need to repaired or replaced so we sent in two times and all they did was reinstall windows on it and then the 90 day warranty ran out so i just went to best buy and bought a new hdd but when i went to put the new hdd in and go to the bios to tell it to boot from the cd rom or flash drive to install windows 8 on to it i was asked for a password. i never put one on it except for a pw for windows 8 log in an i tried it an didnt work i talked to gateway an they said since it is a refurbished laptop i bought thru comcast they cant help me. so i dont know what to do i have proof im the owner and that i bought it thru comcast. can anyone help me with this problem the laptop is for my daughter to use to do her homework and other school work. and cant afford to buy another one.
