Hello to all,
I have strange problem with my Samsung np365ec5 notebook. Few days ago it just turned OFF. Apparently it lost power and worked until battery is drained.
I have tested the AC/DC adapter and found that there is no voltage (19 VDC).
After buying new AC/DC charger, I connected it and found that the problem is still the same. Naturally, I checked the adapter with my multimeter and it's OK, so my next guess was that DC power connecter on notebook side is bad.
I saw this video tutorial, opened the laptop but didnt found any visible problem. Power 19 VDC is present on the first pins on the motherboard (two red pins have 19 VDC).
So, the bad connector is not a problem. The strange thing is that, there is no single LED active or any sign of life. Of course, before dissembling the laptop I changed RAM modules, remove battery and tried to power ON with only charger connected, but no help.
So the next obvious assumption is that something is wrong with the motherboard. Perhaps failure of the old charger damaged the board. Since there is no any sign of life (NO LED is ON when connect output supply), I assume there must be some fuse near the power input to protect the board.
Problem is I cannot locate one near DC input connector. Somewhere in the middle near HDMI input I have found fuses (label F) and they're OK, but I think there must be fuse somewhere very near the input (designer of the board would plan to protect it).
Attached you can find the picture of my motherboard. There is one unidentified component.
I appreciate any advice.
Thank you
