Is my CPU dying?

Hello,
Today I noticed some issues with the speed of my computer,
when I started installing a game, the PC went nuts, everything slowed down, even the simplest operations like moving the cursor, playing music etc...

So, I checked the CPU temperature, it was about 49-50C, I let it cool down a bit and started the installation again. The problem persisted.

Also, I noticed the games I was playing had difficulties running some games which ran good before.

Motherboard - Gigabyte Tech. EP35-DS3
CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
Memory - Kingston 3 GB DDR2 RAM
Graphics - Nvidia Ge Force 9500 GT 512MB
