"Detecting array ..." error on start up

First of all...i Am running on windows 7....but i don't know which service pack.(ignore the "service pack 3" under my name)

Hi, i've had this problem for the longest time now. I used to be able to turn the pc on and off a couple times, and it would work. Then i read on a forum that i should take out the battery for a bit, and let everything reset...that worked a couple times. But now im out of options.
When i try to boot my pc, i get the "WINFAST" screen then this msg appears:

"MediaShield IDE ROM BIOS 7.03
Copyright (c) 2005 NVIDIA Corp.

Detecting array ..."

I checked to make sure "RAID" is disabled, and there aren't any "Raid" options in my BIOS. But to be honest, i don't really know what im looking for. I'm not the best with computers.

Hard drive: WD1600 WD Caviar se ...it's 160gb "enhanced IDE hard drive"
(really old)
On the motherboard it says: "Pheonix BIOS" And not sure it it says "D686 BIOS" or "D888". can't make out if they are "6's" or "8's".

If re-installing windows would be my best option, any advice on how to set the boot option to where i can reinstall it from start up since i can't get past the "Winfast" start up screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
