Two-CPU Server Build: CPU Fans Too Close Together?

Doing research today on building a small business server and have decided that I'd like to propose a dual-CPU server, and since I'm buying from NewEgg exclusively, that limits the options to socket 2011 or socket 1356, since those are all that are available via NewEgg.

While reading the reviews I read one in particular that complains that the board they purchased can only use the "narrow style" CPU cooler, due to the CPU sockets being too close together to allow (I guess) the "normal" sized cooler, which has really got me nervous since the last thing I want is to have all the parts arrive and discover that some won't fit.

So I figured I'd better go learn about the details of getting two CPU coolers to play nice together, and how I might make certain I don't have any trouble with the parts when they arrive.

I don't expect to need anything other than a very basic CPU HSF, and I'd really like to avoid anything weird, expensive, unreliable, etc... In my mind, I just assumed I'd get one of those round, cheap, Intel "push-pin" style CPU HSF's, but since they are circular, maybe they'll be larger than the footprint of the sockets? How would I know?

Another idea I had was liquid cooling, and whether or not that would be a good idea for a Server. Part of me thinks "Yes" because the temps will be kept down constantly and consistently and part of me visualizing overheated water spraying from an exploded water hose, giving all the electronic components inside the Server's case a good soaking. Sparks flying and the start of a small fire in the corner, near the hard drives.

Most importantly, what is the method of mounting to socket 2011 and 1356? Are the days of those stupid tabs gone forever? Is there any chance the HSF can be screwed directly into a reinforced motherboard? I had a great motherboard like that once, and it had a metal plate behind the CPU socket, and when that thing was in, it was IN.

Any help?
