Can't get system to post, tried pretty much all I can think of.

Dear LTT people,

Putting together new and old components in order to upgrade my system into a new case, however when I was done the system would not POST...yay.

I have my ghetto testbench on my (new) motherboard box in order to try to get at least a bios screen but no luck so far. The testbench has my new mobo (24pin and 4pin attached), two sticks of (new) ram, a graphics card with powercables and HDMI cable attached.

Can't be the mobo since it's brand new.
Replaced PSU with one confirmed working, no luck.
Replaced old RAM with brand new sticks, no dice.
Replaced graphics card with old one lying around, again nothing new.
Tested monitor on other system, monitor works fine.
Replaced aftermarket CPU cooler with stock one, no change.
Re-seated everything (including CPU) and reapplied thermal compound using good quality cleaning kits and paste. Problem persists.

I figured a completely dead CPU is pretty rare so I hope not. Also, no visible damage on it anywhere. When I short the pwr pins on my mobo system boots, fans start to run but no display signal. Also, the CPU gets warm so electricity meets resistance there.

Any ideas? Dead CPU? Any help would be greatly appreciated, my last resort is to purchase a new CPU hoping that actually is the problem but I'd prefer not to.
