So, I got a new CPU for my PC. It is the AMD FX-8350, and it's pretty cool; as in the temperatures stay cool. But the fan on the thing is loud, now REALLY loud, but noticeably louder than I'd like. I've been trying to turn the fan down, and I finally found a program that is able to, and I can hear the difference. I use MSI Control Center, as weird as a program is, the last option the program carries is fan control for the CPU. This is the only program I've found that does it.
But, I digress. I boot up my PC, then open up MSI Control Center (because I can't start it up with Windows for some reason?) and turn the fan down as far as it goes (50%). It also displays the RPM, which at 100%, which is default, is ~3500rpm. At 50% it is 100rpm less, right now it is at 2479rpm. Checking with multiple programs, the CPU temperature is 32°C, and at idle, it gets to as low as 15°C, with the fan at 50%. It is about that temperature as well at 100%, so the extra speed is unnecessary.
When at idle or watching videos, I hear a car alarm sound, apparently coming out of my PC tower. Not too loud, but noticeable. The weird thing is, it only happens about every other day, and only once in said day. I can't remember the amount of beeps or how long, but looking here I think I remember about 8 beeps in the car alarm sound. And when I mean car alarm, it sounds EXACTLY like a car alarm. Pretty weird actually.
So, is this just the PC trying to protect itself from a fan malfunction because the fan is spinning lower than what it is comfortable with? It can't be a temperature problem, unless the temperature sensors are off/in the wrong place.
Just kind of worried.
Specs:
Motherboard: MSI 760GM-P34(FX)
GPU: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (EVGA)
Hard Drive: 931GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA100 ATA Device (SATA)
CPU: AMD FX-8350
Bought the GPU a few months ago, it is pretty new, can't be the GPU.
