Hello guys,
so i'm having a trouble with my new pc. I Bought it a week ago, here are the specs:
AMD FX X6 6300, 3,5GHz, 14MB, AM3+
XFX R9 270A 2GB DDR5
GIGABYTE 990XA-UD3 AMD 990X (SAM3+,DDR3,SATA III,LAN,USB 2.0/3.0,Firewire) ATX Box
KINGSTON 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM HyperX FURY White Series
Seagate ST31000DM003 1TB 64MB 7200 SATA 6Gb
XFX 550W Easy rail Bronze
Zalman Z3 mid tower case black
RAIJINTEK Themis Heatpipe CPU-Cooler, PWM - 120mm
I Have installed windows 8.1. and it was working ok for two days.
I've had two BSODs so i updated my drivers and was waiting to see if BSOD will show up again.
I Had no BSOD since, but my PC sometimes randomly restarts. I get no message (i disabled automatic restart in windows, but nothing). It is like someone hits the restart button. What's worse, after that first restart it tries to boot and start windows again, but then it keeps restarting over and over again.
Is it overheating?
Well, no. I was monitoring the temp and no component was over 35 degrees celsius. (don't have the exact numbers right now).
Is it RAM?
i did the memtest and nothing. Also the restarts are very random and inconsistent. Sometimes i can play games (well, minecraft is not the game with the highest requirements, but i also tried some never ones and it never crashed while i was playing.), but then sometimes after i turn it on and do nothing for a minute it just restarts and it keeps restarting.
Is it a virus?
i scanned the pc with AVG and found no threats. AVG does however give me this error: Unspecified error occurred in the following AVG Components: avgui.exe. Would you like to send an error report?
What bugs me is that, after it restarts i also tried to go into BIOS, and it restarted from there, which leads me to believe it is not windows related (or maybe i'm wrong?).
I checked the power supply, changed the power cable, checked everyting inside the case, tried a different wall socket.
Other things that are connected to the pc are:
mouse (usb), keyboard (usb), an older LG monitor that only has a VGA output so i had to connect him to the pc with a VGA/DVI adapter, spekers and an usb wireless adapter (the thing with the antena, sorry english is not my first language).
I brought the pc to the store where i bought it and it is now there for three days and it works perfectly. (they tried hddtest, memtest and benchmarking).
They suggested that i take it back home and see if it restarts again, but the problem is that there is no way for me to detect the source of the problem. Any suggestion? I'm really desperate right now.
Thanks!
