Asus P5B Deluxe - No Video, No Beeps

I have a ~7 year old computer. It's been reliable but lately it was not powering on occasionally (fans speed, Asus logo lights up, but no beeps, video). Now it won't power on at all. I've spent the last week trying to figure out what's wrong with it. Gone through all the steps I can think of:

- remove RAM
- remove video card
- disconnect all devices
- reset CMOS RAM

The two items I have not tried is to swap the PSU, or CPU.

However, while looking at the board I found something very odd. Supposedly the CMOS RAM chip should be on the lower right hand side of the board. Instead I see an empty space. Just the pins, and then some via connectors. Is this expected? Is it possible my CMOS chip "fell off"? I've searched the computer but have not found any loose chips... very weird.

Any help is much appreciated.
