Hey!
So my desktop has been working properly for the last ten months. However, lately it has developed a problem booting. I have an asus motherboard (Asus Z87-PRO) and I get to the splash screen. From this state it can take up to ten minutes to boot and sometimes it fails completely. Also, getting to bios settings takes a while, but is usually achieved. When the computer manages to post, it's all smooth sailing from there on. PSU is a corsair 650 W, although it is around 5 years old.
My OS is on an SSD drive and I have two mechanical storage drives. I've occasionally heard suspicious HD noise, but thought nothing of it.
Are there any common culprits in a case like this?
