Game begins to slow down shortly after playing; HWMonitor displaying high mobo temps

I was playing Skyrim, and after a bit of playing, my game started having periods of several seconds where my framerate would drop significantly. I had been playing fine for about 10-20 hours over the past week without problem, it seems to have only started in the past two days. I tried downloading HWMonitor to look at my temperatures to see if anything seemed unusual. I started the game and within a minute, the problem began to happen. I looked at the HWMonitor and sure enough, something seemed out of place. The TMPIN2 under the motherboard section was reading temperatures as high as 70 degrees Celsius, for all I know it could go higher but I stopped the game as soon as I noticed the high temp. I didn't take the screenshot of the HWMonitor as while the temperatures were peaked but you can see what they maxed at while under load.

I've had this motherboard for about 3 weeks, it was a replacement piece for a GA-870a-UD3 I RMA'd.
