Recently, I upgraded my motherboard/cpu/ram, and it has been an uphill struggle the entire way. Now that I actually have everything up and running, I am trying to reinstall windows 7 so I can actually bring the computer online. However, I'm not even getting the option to boot from disc when my computer starts up. I've gone into the BIOS to set the boot priority to the cdrom, but that didn't seem to make a lick of difference.
I'm running a ga-990fxa-ud3 board with an intel phenom II cpu, 2 muskin 8gig ddr3 ram sticks, geforce gtx560 video card, and a corsair gs600 psu.
The system posts, and goes through all the steps, but leads to a blank screen with the flashing _
Changing the OnChip SATA type from native IDE to AHCI or RAID gets me the option to repair windows, but that inevitably fails as I expected it would.
I've been working with it trying to find solutions to the issue for over a day now, and I'm about at my wits end. Did I miss a vital step in there somehow?
