:cry:Well it is my first time building a computer and i may have messed up my motherboard. I was REdoing the thermal paste because i knew i had it on there incorrectly and i had pulled the cpu out of the socket with the heatsink attached by accident and now my computer wont boot or make any motherboard beeps and there is no display on the monitor anymore, could i have damaged the connectors on the motherboard side of the cpu connection?

i have tried booting with only have the cpu,psu and 1 stick of ram and it doesnt work, and i have tried it without any ram installed and i still get no beeps. ive already requested a replacement cpu from amazon and it should be here in a few days for me to test if it was the cpu or motherboard but getting a refund or replacement for my motherboard might not be possible due to return policy issues so id like to know whats going on here.

sorry if that seems jumbled i cant articulate that well through typing, but i hope you understand my situation.

This is my build btw

GIGABYTE AM3+ NVIDIA GeForce 7025/nForce 630a Chipset DDR3 1600 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard GA-M68MT-S2

Amd phenom x4 965 black edition

2x4gb vengeance ram

corsair 500watt cx500 psu

sony dvd drive

and a stock cooler

i dont have a hd,gpu or os installed yet obviously, but before i did this stupid thing with the cpu the computer booted, beeped and had display on my monitor which at this point only says " off mode in 5 seconds".:banghead:

i Really hope its not the motherboard or im going to be out 50 bucks and thats a pain in the A$$ for me atm.
