USB bootable bios trouble shooting

Hi

I am trying to install ubuntu on a p4. This pc is dedicated to ubuntu , no other os. I am trying to boot from a bootable pendrive. It is not getting booted from the USB -hdd and other options. In all it has 5 different options to boot from usb and i have tested them individually but still neither of them is allowing to boot. I have tested the pendrive on a newer pc and it is getting booted.

So the motherboard is not USB boot capable inspite of having 5 different options in BIOS. What solution would you suggest to make it usb bootable. Upgrading BIOS is one way but since it has usb boot options it seems to be USB boot capable . So i am avoiding to change the BIOS.

i have
Kobian P4 266aNDMx P4 motherbord .
BIOS IS :--- AMIBIOS SimpleSetup Utility Version 1.21.12

It looks very strange as the MOBO has got 5 different options for USB boot. Am i missing some settings in BIOS??? It is a Usb non bootable PC inspite of having 5 USB boot options in BIOS. what can be the reason ???

regards
kanade
