HP Pavilion XT963 has fans, chirps twice, floppy & CD lights blink, CD opens and closes. Have connected it's hard drive to another computer and installed winxpsp2 and I believe the relevant (downloaded) HD drivers. HDD lights do not blink. Plugged HD into CD plug on mobo. Took CMOS battery out for 24 hours. New battery. I could not unzip the HP drivers because they will only do so in an HP enviroment.
How do professional computer repairman troubleshoot integrated video cards? You can't expect a plug in video card to output when you can't see to reset the bios! I've tried pushing F1 (early BIOS) and F10 (late BIOS) a hundred times with three different good monitors and I've never seen any output. Did I fry the onboard video you think? This thing worked fine until I got the idea to download and install winxp sp3 instead of auto updating it. It has quite a bit of sentimental value. Can I put the mobo etc out of a Dell Dimension 2350 I got in it? I...Don't...Do...Icons
