I would like to have more USB ports on my computer. I know that I have one unused USB 2.0 header on my motherboard but the problem is that there was no wire that came with my case to plug to that header. My case only has 2 front panel USB ports. How do I use that extra motherboard USB 2.0 header if my case's front panel does not have any more ports available?
How many ports will that header provide once connected?
Will adding more USB ports slow down the overall USB 2.0 data transfer rate of my PC?
Would something like this (but 2.0) be ideal?
And what if I get a 3.0 one? Will it be backwards compatible with my motherboard's USB 2.0 header? (Thinking of buying parts in case I upgrade my motherboard to 3.0 in the future..)
