I have an old PC that I am trying to repair for a relative. The problem is that I cannot get it to boot at all and can't identify the problem.
The hardware in question is as follows (if it's any help):
MOBO: Not exactly sure on the model, but it's ASUS.
Processor: Heatsink fan says AMD on it.
PSU: SunPro ATX-550W AC 240v
RAM: Elixir 512mb 1Rx8 M2Y51264TU88A0B-37B (PC2-4200U-444-12-A1)
GFX: Gigabyte GV-RX30HM256DP-RH
HDD: Western Digital 40gb HDD
- Mobo green light is on when power is connected.
- PC turns on; PSU fan is spinning, processor heatsink fan is spinning.
- No boot beep.
- Nothing on screen (screen and cable for the screen works fine on another PC I tested).
- Tried plugging the screen into both the mobo video card and stand alone GFX card with no results.
- Made sure all connections are in place by disconnecting and reconnecting each connection in case something wasn't in place properly.
Can anyone suggest what I could try or have an idea of why this PC is not booting?
