I just replaced the graphics card in someone's computer and as of about a week, the monitor has been consistently working with no problems. Now, when I turn on the computer, the monitor doesn't come on. The monitor DEFINITELY works as it has no issues with any other computer I plug it up to, so it must be something specific to this one computer.
Here's another thing I've noticed. When I plug up a keyboard and turn on the computer while the monitor isn't turning on, the Caps, Scroll Lock, and Num Lock lights all stay lit up. I can't even press ctrl + alt + del to reboot the computer during the bootup (know how you can press this to restart it before it starts loading the OS?). It's like the computer is stuck trying to do something, and I'm not sure what.
Any idea what could be the issue with the monitor not coming on and the num, caps, and scroll lock lights stay lit up during this issue? I've tried unplugging the power cable, disconnecting the 24-pin on the motherboard, etc. None of these seem to have fixed the issue.
