OK Teckies I have a good one for you .
I have an hp dv600
part number rg265ua#aba
This laptop is running windows xp media center edition 2005 and it started to the same thing that all hp dv6000 do. you press the power button and the lights flicker and then it stopsbooting. We all know about this bad heatsink disign by hp and that when this happens the video card has issues. So I did what any computer tech geek would do I took it apart and heated up the video card and re melted the soder joints proublem solved right.
Well the quick fix worked for about a month and it did it again so I figuried what the hell order a new motherboard with the updated heatsink. The motherboard numbers for revision and part numbers matched. I installed the new board and put the laptop back together and powered up the darn thing. Well the laptop boots up and goes to the hp titlescreen and freezes. What gives. So I tried the next best thing i took an operationg system from another pc and partitioned the drive and installed windows on the laptop and booted it up and it boots fine and then wants me to register the copy of windows well i just wanted to see if it would boot up that way. The question is everything worked before i replaced the motherboard how come the darn thing just sits on the title screen please help this ones dribg me nuts
