White screen issue - CMOS Battery or Video Card problem

Hi All

I was referred here from the spyware/malware forum. Gladly my system is not infected, however they think it could be a CMOS Battery or video card issue.

When I leave my computer on for an extended period and I come back to it I get a white screen that is difficult to get rid of. I have to reboot my system several times by hitting F8 and eventually I get to the boot mode which is stuck and I have to hit F1 to get it going.

Here is the thread I had posted on the other forum where DR Dos and Amateur helped me out:

" White Screen Virus-Trojan/Ransomeware? Windows Vista 32 bit "

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
