Hello all, I have an ancient computer that I gave to a family member and was wondering what would be the optimum settings for it in bios, motherboard, ram, Graphic card settings, ect... I have two graphic cards in it. Specs will be at the bottom.
Family member needs it for homework and gaming in that order, pretty much need the specs for gaming though, It does OK with gaming but can get sluggish with Lag in some games.
I understand there are way better computers now a-days but this is what the family member is gonna start with if you catch my drift...
P.S I will mention that it currently has 4 sticks of Patriot 512MBytes memory = to make up 2 gigs, 2048... I tried to put 4 sticks of 1GB each and it failed, same type of memory,company(Patriot), unregistered, unbuffered ect... computer would beep over and over and not boot up, I read somewhere that this board says it will take up to 4 gigs but many have had problems with the A8N SLI Deluxe and trying 4 gigs of memory, is there a solution to this?
I know enough to be dangerous about hardware but nowhere enough to figure all this stuff out, any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!:smile:
