I just finished building the PC today and put Ubuntu on it (I'm getting Windows for it in about a week).
After about an hour of installing things I tried watching a Youtube video and it had no sound. I tried turning the PC off and back on and noticed that when the PC was turned on, the TV recognised the connected device as coming through via DVI. Normally that would explain it, as audio cannot travel over DVI, however I am using a HDMI cable going straight from my PC to my TV (both ends are connected to HDMI ports, obviously).
I haven't tried installing any drivers or anything like that,as this incorrect DVI thing seems to be the issue, but I don't know how to solve it. I already checked the BIOS and saw an option I thought would relate to the problem, but it had no effect. Any suggestions, anyone?
