upgraded from i5-2500 to i7-3820

And I have the following problem

Well it's not actually a problem but I can't explain why and I would like to know why

I was having like something 75 fps something in dead space 3 on average with the following system

i5-2500
Asus p8p67m
kingston valueram 1333 mhz 2x4 gb
Sapphire HD 7870 xt
Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
Corsair tx 650w v2

These were ultra settings with max aa and 1080p

Now I have upgraded to an i7-3820 on a gigabyte-x79-ud3 motherboard
The rest is the same, so it's only running dual channel ram

Now I have reinstalled windows (same version) but I did install new drivers as well. The drivers I was using last year were catalyst version 13 something from february 2013. Otherwise I changed nothing, same settings in game

and now i'm getting 125 average, never goes below 110 , sometimes shoots in the 200's
When I look at these benchmarks and at the framerates on my old system this couldn't be possible

When I'm saying this to people they say I'm lying or I want to justify my cpu purchase. Why do get these framerates here, other games have performance increase as well (allthough smaller). I couldn't run far cry 3 maxed out on my old system and stay above 30 fps, now it stays above it easy when maxed out. This is what benchmarks saying when testing with a i7-3770k though, so this is normal.

That still doesn't explain the framerates in dead space 3 though.

Dayz on the other hand runs way worse then like a 20 fps decrease, i used some flags though and have 10fps increase but it ran better on my i5-2500, i already tried disabling hyperthreading

Would there be something wrong with this kind of cpu?
