I have an old NEC PC which currently has a 3ghz Celeron processor, I would like to run a 3ghz pentium or maybe a core 2 pentium 3.6ghz But I need to upgrade the Bios.
The motherboard is an Asus P5S800VM but it is running a proprietary NEC bios (tried installing Asus Bios updates and it refuses). The PC is a Powermate ML250 Tower.
Here is the page where you download the bios from
NEC Computers - Technical Support
But the page never displays, it just errors out, I have had a look round the web and most site that say they have it point back to the non working NEC ftp page. I did mange to download one update that said i was the 216 bios version, it seemed to install ok but still said that my bios version was 204.
Anybody know where I can download a reliable version of the NEC bios?
