Hi all,
Need a little advice...
I have a laptop I am working on for a customer. The motherboard was fried in their Gateway NV53 and they wanted to pay me to replace it. I ordered an exact replica from China. I installed the motherboard but as the first splash screen came up it says Packard Bell and not Gateway. Then Windows would start up but only to the first screen that is all black with the Windows 7 symbol then freeze about half way. Won't let me do a recovery installation or get into Windows period.
It seems to be able to read the hardware as I pull up the BIOS screen it has the names of the different devices connected such as the DVD drive and hard drive but I can't get it to boot from DVD to do a fresh install of Windows 7? I get an error code when I try to boot from the disc like it's having a hard time talking to the dvd drive. The BIOS screen also shows that it was an Easynote TJ74 motherboard but this is an NV53 laptop? Is there something I can do to get this working again. The mobo is the exact same as the other one? Any advice, not sure what to do next? I was thinking of trying to get DOS up and running a BIOS update? Anybody dealt with something like this before?
Thanks in advance
