Hello all,
Forgive my lack of knowledge and/or use of correct terminology. I replaced a DVD-RW drive that was IDE (the wide, thin gray cable with the, i think, 24 pin connectors) with a SATAII DVD-RW drive. Also, I added a video card to the PCIEX16 slot on my mother board after having driver issues with the onboard video driver (the driver & Ubuntu don't mix, apparently).
The "problem": when I push the power button on my tower, the power comes on, however, the computer idles for about 30 seconds. The screen remains off for 30 seconds. Once the monitor comes on, I see the usual "Push DEL for BIOS, F10 for BOOT MENU". It's like the computer takes 30 seconds to "wake up" or something.
Any idea? I'm guessing it's something in the BIOS settings, but I can't figure it out. Please help!
I am experiencing no other issues. There is no lag in shutting down. Same 30 second delay occurs when I restart the computer as well.
Thank you!
