My motherboard in detail
Motherboard Specifications, MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E) HP Pavilion p6345a Desktop PC | HP® Support
My motherboard seems to have these things that are kinda in the way of the PCI-E x16 slot. Also, the place where the RAM seems to restrict the installation of a larger GPU due to it being to high. My current graphics card is a ATI Radeon 5450, and I want to install a GTX660. However, the GTX660 is very large compared to the 5450, and it takes up majority of my motherboard in length. I have not attached it as of yet, because if I did it really looks like it'll hit the RAM slots and not fit.
Is this even possible? I've never heard anyone being restricted by something being in the way on the motherboard.
Also on a side note, can you remove the IO shield from a OEM computer and re-use it?
